Dutton Automotive Replacement Coating Policy

This warranty is provided by Dutton Retail 1 Pty Ltd (ACN 155 253 311) (referred to as Dutton Automotive, we, us or our) to consumers within the meaning of the Australian Consumer Law, who purchase Guard Cosme, 360 GLASS and other coating products manufactured by Central Automotive Products LTD (together, the Goods) from Dutton Automotive (the authorised distributor in Australia for the Goods). This warranty covers the replacement of any Goods subject to the conditions outlined below and is granted in addition to the original warranty supplied by Central Automotive Products LTD in respect of the Goods upon purchase titled Warranty and Application Certificate” (the WAC).

1. CONSUMER GUARANTEES

1.1 The Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Goods repaired or replaced if the Goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

1.2  The benefits given to you by this warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law and do not limit or replace those rights in any way.

2. WARRANTY PERIOD

2.1 In addition to your rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law, we warrant that in respect of the motor vehicle that the Goods have been applied to (the Motor Vehicle), where the Goods applied to the Motor Vehicle are found to have any defects in material and workmanship (Defective Goods), we will replace such Defective Goods with new Goods for the lifetime of that Motor Vehicle,  provided that:

a. the claimant is either the first registered owner of the Motor Vehicle or a person who has had the warranty transferred to their name in accordance with clause 2.2;   

b. at the time of making a claim under this warranty, the claimant has purchased an annual maintenance kit from Dutton Automotive and used it for maintenance of the relevant Goods in accordance with the instructions issued with the maintenance kit; and

c. the requirements of clause 3 have been met.

2.2  From 1 August 2025, this warranty may be transferred to the second registered owner of the Motor Vehicle if the vehicle is less than 12 years old from date of manufacture at the time of transfer. In order for this warranty to be transferred to the second registered owner, the second registered owner must:

a.      contact us by email within 30 days of purchasing the Motor Vehicle;

b.    provide us with their name, mobile phone number and email address for the purpose of account creation and administering the warranty;  

c.     provide us with the registration details of the Motor Vehicle; and

d.     provide us with either a photo of the original receipt to show proof of the application of the initial Goods to the Motor Vehicle or the WAC issued for the initial Goods applied to the Motor Vehicle.

2.3  If a WAC is lost or destroyed, please contact Dutton Automotive for further instructions. Dutton Automotive may require further information prior to issuing a replacement WAC.

3. COVERAGE AND EXCLUSIONS

In order to be eligible for a replacement of the Goods under this warranty:

 a.     the Defective Goods must be presented in accordance with the WAC – exclusions apply; and

 b.    the claimant must demonstrate that they have presented the Motor Vehicle for routine maintenance services to be performed on the Goods at any of our retail sites located in Victoria at least once per year. 

4. HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM

4.1  To make a claim under this warranty, you must contact us by email as soon as the relevant defect has been identified.

4.2  After making a preliminary assessment of the eligibility of your claim, we will then make an appointment to inspect the Motor Vehicle and conduct an assessment of whether the relevant defect is covered by this warranty. We will provide you with an outcome of the assessment via email.

4.3  You must provide:

a.      your photo identification;

b.    current and valid registration papers for the Motor Vehicle;

c.     original receipts of purchase of the Goods or valid transfer of warranty in accordance with clause 2.2;

d.    evidence of maintenance kits purchased each year since either the application of the initial Goods to the Motor Vehicle or the transfer date of warranty; and

e.     a reasonably clean Motor Vehicle to enable the inspection.

5. YOUR ENTITLEMENTS UNDER THIS WARRANTY

5.1 If we determine that the relevant defect is covered under this warranty, we will arrange for the replacement of the Defective Goods at a time that is convenient for you and our applicator.

5.2 We will bear the cost of the reapplication and coating as applicable. You will bear all other expenses involved with claiming under this warranty, including making the Motor Vehicle available for inspection.

6. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

We will collect, use and store personal information for the purpose of warranty registration and administration in accordance with Dutton Automotive’s ’Privacy Policy’ separately published on our website (https://duttongroup.com.au/privacy-policy/).
